Taiwan’s Foxconn to invest billions in U.S.
Taiwanese manufacturing giant Foxconn –
part of the Hon Hai group -announced on Wednesday at the White House plans to
invest $10 billion to build a world class LCD panel plant in the US state of
Wisconsin. The investment will create at least 3,000 jobs initially and has the
potential to generate up to 13,000 jobs in the near future. That’s just the
beginning of a series of investments the company will make in the U.S.
manufacturing sector in the next few years, says Hon Hai’s Chairman Terry Gou.
